The Cadillac CT5, a sedan that has been available since 2019, is getting a substantial refresh for the 2025 model year. In an industry where four years can feel like an eternity, Cadillac has decided it’s time to breathe new life into this luxury sedan. While sedan sales have been slow in the United States, Cadillac is determined to give the CT5 a makeover with updates to the front fascia, interior, and more. Although there is no information yet on how these changes will apply to the CT5-V Blackwing, Cadillac promises more details on that front will be revealed soon.

The most striking change to the CT5 is its front end. The grille has been enlarged, the headlights are redesigned, and the Sport model boasts its unique visual enhancements. These alterations collectively contribute to a noticeable and appealing facelift. The rear end, however, remains largely untouched, except for some changes within the taillights.

Additionally, the 2025 CT5 introduces two new exterior colors: Deep Space Metallic, a captivating black/blue hue with metallic flake accents, and Typhoon Metallic, a striking shade that falls between green and blue.

But what truly matters to an owner is the interior, and the CT5 doesn’t disappoint in this department. Gone is the small infotainment display in the center console, replaced by a substantial 33-inch curved display, similar to what the Lyriq and Escalade offer. This massive screen seamlessly integrates the instrument cluster and infotainment functions into one cohesive unit. Below the screen, the instrument panel remains largely unchanged, with no new interior color options introduced.

The interior enhancements extend to technology as well. Super Cruise, Cadillac’s advanced driver assistance system, is still available, and it now comes with enhanced lane-keep assist. Previously, if Super Cruise became inactive while driving, the driver would lose access to other significant driver aids, except for radar cruise control. With this update, there’s a smoother transition, allowing the car to continue centering itself in its lane as long as the driver keeps their hands on the wheel.

Cadillac has also embraced Google’s suite of apps, despite moving away from Android Auto. The integration includes Google Maps, the Play Store, and Google Assistant. Furthermore, Amazon Alexa is now built into the CT5, along with an optional 5G hotspot for connectivity.

Under the hood, the CT5 retains its existing drivetrains. The base model is equipped with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine producing 237 horsepower, while the optional 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged V6 engine, with 335 horsepower, remains available. Both engines can be paired with all-wheel drive, with rear-wheel drive as the standard configuration.

The most exciting changes are expected to come when the CT5-V Blackwing receives its update, which is on the horizon. Although Cadillac has not provided an exact release date, it’s highly likely that the high-performance variant will also benefit from this facelift. While mechanical changes are still speculative, they are not out of the question.

Production of the refreshed CT5 is set to commence in the spring of 2024, with these updated models arriving at dealerships shortly thereafter.
